I have belonged to a gym for as far back as I can remember so I have always been familiar with weightlifting and group fitness classes. I was at a point in my life where I hit a major plateau, felt stuck and was bored with my workouts. I was ready for a change AND a new environment.
I started working with Shelby back in April, meeting twice a week for an hour. Coming to the gym didn’t feel like a chore anymore and I actually looked forward to my workout at the end of the day! I used to walk around the weight room and use each machine, not really knowing how to get the results I wanted. While training with Shelby she was not only motivating but took the time to explain why I was doing each specific exercise and how it would get me the results I was looking for. In the two months that I have worked with Shelby I have lost almost 4 pounds of body fat! She has really helped me to not be so obsessed with the numbers on the scale, but to focus more on how I look and feel overall.
Now that I have an awesome training program to follow, I am ready to venture off on my own again. I look forward to coming to the gym each night after work, even on a Friday night! Coming to LIFT at the end of my work day is definitely my therapy. No matter what kind of mood I enter the gym with, I always leave feeling accomplished and happy. The staff are all very friendly, the gym is always clean, and the vibe overall is just inviting.
If you are on the fence about personal training I highly recommend meeting Shelby. She is very knowledgeable and always has a great attitude. She will definitely push you to meet your goals-but you have to want it at the same time!
